What is a "Dirty Arm"

The term "dirty arm" applies when a horizontal pipe extends beyond the point where it is vented, meaning it runs without additional venting for a certain distance before connecting to the main system.Dirty arms are commonly used for showers.

CODA can be used as a dirty arm to extend away from the P-trap to your new drain location. As show in International Plumbing Code, when CODA is installed with a traditional 2-inch shower drain, it can be extended up to 8 feet from the original drain.
